Acts of Kindness
Annual “Angels Care Day” involves entire communities
distributing items that were donated by major corporations to
nursing homes, senior citizen housing, individual households,
families and group homes.
“Blanketing The City” primarily targets the
homeless, homeless shelters and the more depressed communities
in Columbus, Ohio. Blankets, coats, clothes, meals and school
supplies are provided.
“Computer Lab & Learning Center” is used
for our Youth and Adult Job Readiness Program, also at our Ohio
location.
“Into My Destiny Program” youth enrichment
program for high schools located in New Brunswick, New Jersey
and surrounding communities. Using a non-traditional approach,
the program is designed to reach students considered to be “at-risk”
of dropping out of high school or under achievers. TANB collaborates
with the Student Liaison Outreach Team (S.L.O.T.), which is
under the direct supervision and coordinated by the New Brunswick
Chief of Police for Community Relations, Donald Bowling.
“Taste of Community” is an Annual luncheon
for seniors 55+ years, prepared
and served by youth. The event serves to foster positive community
relationships.
The idea is for the teens to help with basic preparations and
serving of the 3-course
lunch to seniors, and then to have an opportunity for both teens
and seniors to chat
and get to know a bit about each other. The goal is to create
an environment that
fosters awareness, gratitude and connectedness between these
two generations.”
“Acts of Kindness” include performing various
errands and deeds (e.g. light housekeeping, grocery shopping,
bill payment, etc.) as needed by individuals temporarily unable
to do for themselves. Flower and plant deliveries to nursing
home residents, senior citizens, the sick and shut in, and during
times of bereavement.
“TANB Affiliate Partner Programs” designed
specifically for small church organizations with a desire to
expand current outreach ministry initiatives, but are unable
to do so for lack of sufficient resources.
